How long after taking ill health retirement will I be eligible for employment?
I accepted ill health retirement from Royal Mail after 6 years of employment there, due to a mental health issue I had been suffering with on and off since the age of 15. I left almost 3 years ago when I was 21. I am now recovered and feel fit for work again. Infact I'm desperate to return to employment A.S.A.P I heard somewhere that employers are unlikely to take me on for a certain amount of years after ill health retirement. As I am so young, and have had counselling to deal with my issues, I was hoping it was at the employers discretion rather than a rule in general. Can anyone tell me if there is a time limit and if so, how long??

Health/retirement/surgery?
My moms husband 62 just had his prostate removed about 2 months due to surgery. He missed work for about 7 weeks. Now they found out he has cancer in his liver, did a biopsy , doctors say surgery chemo is not an option. he is not a smoker drinker. They are meeting this week with a surgeon in San Antonio texas, the only option is a liver transplant. he will be one of the ones at the top of the list. but it still could be 8 months or so. So, recovery time is usually 9 months ish. he was thinking of taking early retirement. After doing a little research his retirement would only be about 600.00 Would he qualify for any benefits? social security? disability? Since,I am not sure what I am looking for, its hard to look online. They were just thinking if they can find something during those 9 months of recovery he can work another 3 years and get full retirement

How can someone afford drug prescriptions after retirement?
My dad was employed at his job for about 30 years and had a good union with great heath benefits health insurance and drug prescription medicine benefits . My mom is really sick and takes about 6 different prescriptions a month which are really expensive. Since my dad had benefits from his job had only had to pay a $2 co pay for the drugs. Now he retired and his job does not have retiree benefits. Is there any affordable way for my dad to get the drugs my mom need? She is already on medicare plan b but does not qualify for the prescription medicine part D. Any ideas?

Working at a retirement home look good for college?!?
Does working at a retirement home look good for college? Basically it is community service because i'm a waitress and serve them food four nights a week. Do colleges like to see this rather then working at like dunkin donuts? Thanks
